Intense Brow[n]s

Intense Browns is a new tinting system from RefectoCil. Respond to your clients unique brow needs and create hybrid brow styles! From a traditional look to ombre brows or a "full on" semi-permanent makeup effect, go beyond just tinting the hairs and offer a makeup-like affect. Please note the Intense Browns Tints must be used with Intense Browns Primer & Activator Gel - they cannot be mixed with regular RefectoCil tints or oxidant.

Intense Brow[n]s by RefectoCil

If you've been doing brow tints for a while, you already know the RefectoCil routine. Tint + developer, mixed on a dish, brushed on, timed, wiped off. It's simple, it's reliable, and generations of techs have built their brow menu around it.

Intense Brow[n]s is different. It looks similar on the shelf because it's the same brand, but the system underneath works completely differently.

So what is it?

Intense Brow[n]s is RefectoCil's newer tinting system, built around three products: an Intensifying Primer, a tinted Base Gel, and an Activator Gel. It comes in four shades: Ash Brown, Chocolate Brown, Deep Brown, and Black Brown. Results last 4-6 weeks on hair and 7-12 days on skin, and the system is vegan and FDA-compliant for use on brows and lashes. As the system is designed to stain the skin underneath too, it gives a fuller, more "filled in" look. 

Mixing is Different with Intense Brow[n]s

Intense Brow[n]s skips the harsh peroxide-based oxidant and dye mixture. There's no mixing tint and developer together in a dish. Instead, you apply the products in sequence: primer first to prep the skin and hair, then the tinted Base Gel on its own, then the Activator Gel afterward as a separate step. The activator contains silver nitrate, which enshrouds the hair folicle and gives it that skin-staining effect. Intense Brow[n]s VS. Other Hybrid Tints

Intense Brow[n]s is a safer alternative to traditional oxidative dyes because it is free of 'harsh' chemicals like PPD (paraphenylenediamine) and hydrogen peroxide.

The trade off is that it's a few more steps than a straight tint, but the payoff is a safer tint that can be used on a much broader range of clients.

The sequencing matters, and skipping steps or rushing the activator stage will show up in patchy or uneven skin staining. It's worth treating it as a proper add-on service with its own training, not an upsell you slot into an existing tint booking.
