How does your dermaplaning technique measure up?

Q How's my dermaplaning?
A Where's the dead skin & vellus hair going? Take a look at where the debris is collecting after each stroke. It should be piling up on the skin — not sticking to the blade. If it's consistently on the blade, something's off.
Work through these three checks:
- TensionThe skin needs to be taut, not stretched tight. Use a two-point stretch to create a small flat plane, work in sections, and always anchor before you glide. On areas like the jawline, pull upward to flatten the neck-to-jaw transition before each stroke.
- AngleAre you holding the blade at 45 degrees?
- PressureBlade pressure should be light-to-medium and consistent throughout the stroke. Your non-dominant hand should be holding the skin firm without compressing it.
