You will need:
- RefectoCil Tint Colour (eg: Natural Brown)
- Cream or Liquid Oxidant (Developer – we recommend cream)
- Brush or Application Stick
- Bowl to mix in and a Bowl of Water
Step 1: Preparation
- Remove contact lenses (if applicable).
- Clean the eyebrow area with Micellar Oil-free Eye Makeup Remover or similar product. (Use a mix of baby shampoo and water if you don't have any eye makeup remover at home.)
- Pat your brows dry.
Step 2: Mix & Apply
- Immediately before tinting, mix 2cm of tint (squeeze from the tube) with 2cm of RefectoCil Oxidant 3% Cream OR 10 drops of RefectoCil Oxidant 3% Liquid into a creamy paste using a brush or application stick.
- Apply to eyebrows evenly.
Step 3: Application Time
- Brows: Leave on for 5–10 minutes. The longer the application, the more intense the result.
Step 4: Remove
- Remove using cotton pads and water. Ensure all tint is thoroughly removed. Tip: If you applied tint to one side first, remove from that side first too.
Additional Tips
- Discard any unused tint after application — once mixed it will not keep longer than 30 minutes.
- Allergy test: Apply a small amount to your inner elbow for 10–15 minutes before first use and after long periods without tinting. Do not use if any reaction occurs.
FAQ's
Why do I need a separate developer and tint colour?
Tint colours and developer "activate" when mixed together — this is the nature of all professional brow colour products. Both are sold separately because one developer works with all 9 shades, making it a very economical method. The colour tube contains pigment/dye; the developer contains peroxide which opens the cuticle and allows the pigment to deposit. It's a time-tested science!
What will the different colours look like?
It's worth noting tints only work on lighter hair. Eg: A Light Brown shade will not show on black hairs, which are darker. Choose your natural hair colour in the chart below (left column) and compare to the tint colour you're using to see an approximate colour outcome.
