Your Berodin Body Guide to Using Hard Wax

Ironically hard wax tends to be called “hot wax” in this part of the world. Our waxes work at a low temperature, so when we’re talking about “hard wax” we are referring to “hot wax” or wax that comes in bead form and is then melted down – potato… tomato! The main thing is – when you use hard wax, always think about going easy. That’s because hard wax is gentler on the skin making it ideal for those sensitive areas. Not sure when or where to use it? This Berodin Body Guide to Hard Wax will tell you all you need to know about why it’s the ultimate choice for certain sensitive zones.

1. The Go-To Choice for Delicate Areas of the Body

When it comes to waxing sensitive areas such as the face, bikini, Brazilian, and underarms, hard wax shines. Its gentle and effective nature makes it perfect for these sensitive zones. Unlike strip waxhard wax doesn’t stick to the skin (making it less painful) which allows you to go over an area a second time to remove any hair left behind This ensures thorough hair removal and leaves the skin feeling smooth and revitalised.

2. Embrace the Comfort

One of the most common misconceptions about hard wax is that it is more painful than soft wax. However, the truth is quite the opposite. Hard wax is an excellent choice for clients with sensitive or reactive skin as it is gentler during the hair removal process. Since hard wax adheres to the hair and not the skin, it causes less discomfort. This makes it an ideal option when creating a more comfortable wax experience.

3. The Right Temperature Leads to Success

To achieve optimal results with hard wax, it is crucial to understand the correct temperature for application. We recommend using a double basin warmer that can hold both hard and soft wax. Set the temperature gauge to around 45 degrees Celsius (113 degrees Fahrenheit) for both hard wax and soft wax. Remember to check the wax’s consistency by picking it up on your spatula. If it runs off too easily, the wax is too hot and should be allowed to cool slightly.

4. Use Berodin Blue, Jet Set, or a mix of both

  • Jet Set is formulated for hot and humid climates, so if your room is warm, or you do lots of facials – this one is for you! Jet Set sets much faster than traditional hard waxes.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
  • Blue is our signature hard wax. This stripless wax provides quick, efficient results and a less painful experience. Blue is formulated with flexible polymers and can be applied in multiple sections without breaking or becoming rigid.
  • Mix it up! As summer approaches and humidity increases, you can mix Jet Set into your Blue. Then, as things cool off and the seasons change, go back to 100% Blue! To do this, mix one 500 gram Jet Set to 4.5kg of Blue!

Basic Rules:

1) Apply wax in the direction of the hair growth, remove against.
2) Keep hand alongside of the body when you are removing, do not pop your hand out into the air.
3) Keep the skin tight at all times. Have the customer help you on areas where you feel you need assistance.

Directions:

FACE (BROWS, LIPS, CHIN, BEARD, NECKLINE, HAIRLINE, EARS, NOSE):

  • Dry wipe to remove makeup.
  • Apply wax in as many areas as possible for most efficient use of time. Apply wax evenly leaving good edges so you do not have to pick to get the wax started.
  • Picking is very irritating for the skin and the client. For lips, go over lip edge to get the hairs in the corners of the mouth and along the lip. (Do not do this if lips are chapped, as it will pull off the skin.)
  • After waxing, use a drop of Post Wax Essential Oil on each area to soothe and calm the skin while reducing irritation, bleeding or itching.
  • Also use Blemish Control Gel if clients are prone ot breakouts or if it is their first time getting waxed. Use Post Wax Soothing Cream for clients who turn extremely red.

UNDERARMS, BIKINI AND BRAZILIAN:

  • Wipe the area with Berodin Lavender Lotion and apply a SMALL amount of Berodin Jasmine Oil.
  • Using Berodin Blue Wax, apply evenly with good edges, and make sure the wax extends past the area of the hair. That way, when you are getting to the edge, you are not puling hairs and irritating your customer.
  • After waxing, apply a few drops of Post Wax Essential Oil to each area. This soothes and calms areas that bleed (mostly underarms).
  • Also use Blemish Control Gel for clients are prone to ingrown hairs or breakouts. Use Post Wax Soothing Cream to calm redness or inflammation.
